Rural Fire Protection District

Services

The City of Gonzales Fire Department will provide protection services within the Rural Fire Protection District. This includes plan check and fire inspection services. The District will maintain an annual fire inspection program for all commercial and industrial businesses in the District. The City will schedule these inspections. Additionally, the District will adopt current Fire Codes, in the same manner as adopted by the City. The Gonzales City Fire Department is staffed by both career firefighters and volunteers. Currently the Gonzalez Fire Department maintains a fleet of four apparatus: Engine 8111, Patrol 8150, Rescue 8160, and Water Tender 8141.

Approval of Building Plans
For Fire Department approval of construction building plans, as required by the Monterey County Planning Department, contact Gonzales Fire Department Chief Jason Muscio at 831-675-4204 for plan approval.
